What did you come to me for help with?
Becky Grant : Hi, my name is Becky Why I came to work with Sam? Well, it had got to the point that I was too scared to even lead my horse from the field. I didn't want to spend time with her. Driving to the yard was just, it became a chore. And I was just anxious every time I got in the car to go and see her, which is not a place that anyone wants to be in. I used to go up and I used to just cry at the yard. I was just, it was just horrible and it got to a make or break point where I would either have to do something about it, or she's gonna have to go and horses are obviously just not for me. So it was just sheer fear. I was just living off the sheer fear and the what if's and I'd previously had an accident a couple of years ago, and I didn't know whether that was the main cause for this anxiety, or whether it was an amalgamation of things that happen in life. But I had hit rock bottom with my horse, and it was make or break time.
And how has working with me helped you?
Becky Grant : Working with Sam, straight off the bat, I am a happier person in general. Every day there is a little bit more sunshine in my life than I had before. I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now it's just like, I'm just so excited to go to the yard and see her. I'm excited to spend time with my horse, be it in the saddle, be it on the ground, be it just hugging her in the stable. Everything is just better, and this was the whole point of having this horse was it was a hobby for me, it was an enjoyment, I am just a happy hacker. But I just love it, I just love being there, I love going to see her and it just makes working hard every day to pay for her, worth it. Now I, well, cool, well, I hacked her out on my own for the first time, this week. I have been in the school, we have cantered, I'm having lessons on her I came off. And then I just sat there, smiled, got back up, brushed myself off and got back on and cantered again. So it is possible, and I know it's a work in progress and I know I'm gonna keep going, but it is worth it, so worth it just to be this happy again. But it's not just with the horse, my whole life in general, a lot's happened to me and a lot is still happening and I'm just approaching it in a calmer, more logical approach and it's not taking over my life. These thoughts are no longer controlling how good or bad my day's going to be and it's just so nice to be calm. I'm sleeping better. I remember when I first started, I used to get constant tension in my neck, when I, whenever I woke up in the morning I had neck ache, that's gone. It's just calming, just calmed thoughts right down. Follow the process. It is worth it, and it has worked for me. And onwards and upwards, I'm just constantly working with a trainer and with Sam's work, and I'm just gonna get better. I'm just gonna spend this time with my girl and that's what I've got her for, to enjoy. Sam has also, she's just helped with me being able to deal with things, with anything bad that happens, be it on the horse, be it in life, just learn to deal with it. And in just a calmer way. It's just phenomenal how much this has worked.
What would you say to anyone thinking of working with me?
Becky Grant : Anyone thinking of working with Sam, all I can say is do it! it's worth it. 100%, it's worth every penny. And all I can say is that after my first session, going into my second session with Sam, I did honestly say I'm sceptical, don't think this is for me. Don't think it's working, And she asks you to be honest so she can help. And she then pointed out 3 positive things that I had said in the session before and I didn't even notice to start with, how it was, it was actually working, and I kept at it and I have no regrets, no looking back. This is the best thing I've ever done. It was make or break and now I know I can, I can keep my horse and I'm happy with my horse, and we're gonna have fun together and it's the best thing I ever did. It's worth every penny. I can't thank Sam enough, It's just amazing, I just feel happy and just happy and less stressed and relaxed and I can go out and I can be the happy hacker I want to be, And I just have to say that the win in Prepare to Win. It's not necessarily just the medals or the clear rounds that people are going for. It's also for happy hackers like me, the win is getting on my horse, the win is enjoying my time on my horse. The win is having that canter in the school, taking her out on my own for the first time. They are all little wins that build up, so Prepare to Win! It is worth it. I just, I can't recommend her enough.
