Dr. Priya Samant: Hi, my name is Doctor Simon. I'm a podiatrist here in Las Vegas, Nevada. I've been in Las Vegas for about five years, but I'm originally from Northern California. I like practicing Nevada because there's as much need for providers as it is a growing city. Working in long term care facilities is a blessing. It's a great way to reach out to the community and help with preventative care. It's an easy visit for most of my patients. We just get to sit and chat and I get to trim their nails and calluses and they feel much better in their shoes. But also I get the privilege of making sure that there's no wounds or any type of infections that are starting to brew and I typically can catch them before they become a bigger problem.
Why did you decide to go into podiatric medicine?
I liked podiatry because it was local to a certain area, foot and ankle and lower leg. It's nice to be able to treat something fully and understand the derm, the vascular, the neuro, and the musculoskeletal issues that can happen in one certain area. I've been practicing for about four years now. I have a private practice and I do long term facility care as well.
A fun fact about Dr. Samant
One fun fact about me is that I'm an avid meditator. Well, I don't know if this is a fun fact. It is definitely a fact about my life. Being in meditation allows me to be consistent and give better practice in all aspects of my life. I notice that I can be better with my patients and better with my provider care. I can be a better mom and a better wife when I am able to stay grounded throughout the day.
We thank you for choosing to partner with PPG!
