Why is it important that Black moms are included in preeclampsia research?
Dr. Quantrilla Ard: It's important to include Black moms in preeclampsia research because there is not a "one size fits all" approach. Each woman, each mother, each birthing person needs an individualized approach.
Why does preeclampsia research matter?
Dr. Quantrilla Ard: Preeclampsia research matters because it is one of the leading causes of death for mamas and Black mamas, especially. So, anything that we can do to help eliminate this particular issue and save mamas' lives is what I am championing and I am encouraging you to continue supporting the Preeclampsia Foundation and preeclampsia research so that we can make this a lived reality in our lifetime.
