What is your name and how many postpartum recoveries have you been through?

My name is Victoria. I have been through 3 postpartum recoveries. I have a 5 year old, a 16-month-old, and a 4-month old. So, my last two were almost exactly 12 months apart.

How did you hear about Postpartum Care USA?

I was scrolling through Instagram one day and I got an ad for Postpartum Care USA um, after I looked into it further, I thought that this could definitely be something that will help me, um, especially having had those back to back pregnancies.

What made you finally invest in your postpartum recovery and what did you try prior to starting with our packages?

After I found out I was pregnant with baby number 3, I knew that I wanted to treat this postpartum differently because I was worried about my health, um, having those back to back pregnancies and what that meant for me. Um, postpartum, I was experiencing symptoms with my thyroid. I was extremely exhausted and it was kind of the turning point to, OK, let's get the ball rolling and see what's going on. Um, so that's when I jumped into the package. Um, before doing the packages though, I wasn't doing much for postpartum, I was just trying to rest. I was taking my prenatal, um, waiting to exercise, so I was, you know, cleared by my doctor, just what they usually tell you to do.

What were you struggling with specifically and how was it affecting your life?

Um, about 1 month postpartum, I started getting like a fullness feeling in my thyroid, um, and I was very fatigued to the point where I just always wanted to lay down and take a rest, but, you know, with 3 kids, that wasn't very um likely during the day as a stay at home mom, um. And really that, that was probably the most significant symptoms because it really did affect the rest of my day. It affected how much I played with my kids. It affected how I got the chores done around the house. Um, and then just having that nagging feeling in my thyroid too was kind of putting a damper on my mood. Oh, and mood, that was another one. Um, you know, I didn't realize how down I was feeling and all of these things I just chalked up to the normal, um, postpartum experience, especially having multiple kids, um, and being a stay at home mom.

How did we help with significantly reducing those symptoms and getting you back to the things you loved? Be specific.

I had my labs drawn and worked with Amber C on my lab review, and that was such an enlightening experience. Um, one of the most significant things we found was that I was incredibly low in B12. Um, I think optimal is between 700 to 800 and I was at 118. So that has so much to do with mood and energy, um, and I just remember just being so happy, honestly, because I told my husband, wow, like, I'm tired, but I don't have to be this tired. Um, and then I also had some confirmation that there were a few things going on with my thyroid, um, but it wasn't anything significant yet, so that was very reassuring that we could, um, tackle that before things got worse. Um, so once I had my supplements ready and I started taking those consistently, I just couldn't believe how much my mood improved. I, you know, felt happier during the day. I felt like I had more energy. I was able to play with my kids without this brain fog that honestly, I didn't even know I had. Um, I just thought I was just a little bit tired because I had 3 kids now. Um, but my days have been improved significantly and that fullness in my thyroid has um gone away, so I'm so thankful for that.
