Speaker: Deanna Carlsen
Deanna Carlsen: Hi, my name is Dianna, and I've been through one postpartum journey. Um, my journey is a little unique because I actually went through postpartum with an adoption and not giving birth.
How did you hear about Postpartum Care USA?
Deanna Carlsen: I heard about Postpartum Care USA, um, actually scrolling through Facebook. Um, I was, didn't have any other mamas to reach out to and somehow it just Ended up coming up on one of my Facebook feeds.
What made you finally invest in your postpartum recovery and what did you try prior to starting with our packages?
Deanna Carlsen: Um, I finally decided to reach out for help because I was not sleeping, baby wasn't sleeping, and I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what was normal. I was embarrassed because I figured I shouldn't be going through a postpartum, uh, journey because I didn't give birth. It was an adoption. Um, but my hormones were a mess and I wasn't happy. My husband and I weren't connecting, and I wasn't connecting with our new beautiful baby. Um
What were you struggling with specifically and how was it affecting your life?
Deanna Carlsen: I was struggling greatly to just function, um. I was barely getting out of bed in the morning. Um, baby wasn't sleeping, I wasn't sleeping, and like I said, my husband and I weren't connecting. Um, we don't fight, but we were fighting a lot more, and I knew for the health of my family, I needed to get help. And postpartum USA truly helped um both myself, my marriage, and my motherhood.
How did we help with significantly reducing those symptoms and getting you back to the things you loved? Be specific.
Deanna Carlsen: Because I was adoption, postpartum journey, I was very embarrassed to even reach out for help. Um, but talking to the beautiful ladies at Postpartum USA, they said, absolutely, I'm going through the same struggles as any mama, um, especially with a baby not sleeping. Um, and with my past medical history of, um, hormones out of balance and other female issues, they absolutely said that, um, I definitely needed to get checked. Um, so they did a bunch of blood work, which found so many nutrients and vitamin deficiencies, mineral deficiencies. Um, my estrogen and progesterone were again low, and just balancing all of my hormones and balancing, um, making sure my minerals and vitamins were, where they were supposed to be, it's been a huge help. Um, vitamin D was, my vitamin DK was very, very low. And once I got on the supplement for that, it was like a fog was lifted and darkness um became light. It was huge improvement overnight.
What was your overall experience and would you recommend our services to any mom in need? Give them permission to reach out mama!!
Deanna Carlsen: I absolutely, 100% would recommend them, um, recommend postpartum USA to any mama through their postpartum journey. Um, these beautiful ladies truly love you, will pray with you, will talk with you, and we'll listen to you. Um, I had to go back to teaching, uh, first graders with my, after my maternity leave was over, and that was really, really hard, um, transition back, but I was able to call them at my lunchtime and talk to them, and they were able to help me through it and pray me through it. And just knowing there's other mamas that are experiencing this, and I'm not alone in this postpartum journey, and this motherhood journey was huge. Um, I would highly recommend it and especially if you are an adoptive momma. Um, our postpartum looks a little different, but we are still walking through the sleepless nights and not having any idea how to take care of a newborn. Um, so please reach out. They were wonderful. They were very knowledgeable with adoption, which I haven't found in a lot of other places, and they were very loving, um, because of the adoption. So I would highly recommend reaching out to them.
