Children Need To Be Seen As Individuals

So I have for a long time been doing um district level training and professional learning for teachers and admin. And I think that a lot of times we are still, we are still running factories and we are still teaching like we are preparing people for a factory, like we're just doing cogs like we're teaching to the masses um where I believe teachers really need to understand and it's almost like a Montessori training if you will for teachers that are in traditional settings. I think that understanding the student and following the child, I saw one of the comments that said, you know, my child has been in this class still don't know their reading level, you still don't know, you know what they're capable of. And if I don't know what a child is capable of, there's no way that I am going to push them beyond that. Right. It's, it's, and, and if I don't know who they are, how am I bringing curriculum? That makes sense to them? You know, because the same curriculum cannot make sense and, and feed every child, but we're trying to force it to. So I think a lot of this is like, how do we get down to some individual learning plans for students? Um Some schools are in districts are really starting to move into competency based education. Um And more of that individualized learning, but teachers have to be taught how to do that because right now we're teaching here is this, let's let's feed it to the masses and let's hope whoever gets it, gets it and whoever doesn't. We're sorry, because we're teaching to just this line.
