Katherine Godby: Hi there. I'm Catherine Godbey. 68 years old, retired clergy. I've been a steady voter for 50 years. Um, two years ago, in response to the high number of deaths in our county jail. Uh, I co-founded the justice network of Tarrant County. Uh, one of our action teams is the voting rights team and we posted two very successful what we call democracy needs us now, events, they were fun and educational and all about, um, getting out the vote. Uh, we had one in Fort Worth and we had another one in Arlington, our two biggest cities in Tarrant County. Uh, we're a purple county in 2020. Joe Biden won here. Uh, but Tarrant County is also known as a center for white Christian nationalism. We have a far right extremist county judge who has a majority on our county commissioner's court. And we have a sheriff who was honored by the Claremont Institute recently and spoke at a stop the steal rally. So there's lots of voter suppression going on in this county. Um, the sheriff's up for re election and we have two spots on the commissioner's court also in the race this year. So we're hoping, um, hoping, hoping to turn this county blue. Um, and those are probably the most important reasons that I voted in this election.
