Speaker: Nicole and Brian

Introduce yourselves!

Nicole and Brian: Hello. We're Brian and Nicole. Uh, we are from Washington State. Uh, Nicole works at a local credit union and I work at an auto repair shop.

When thinking about the future, what type of relationship do you hope to have with your child's birth family?

Nicole and Brian: Having an open relationship with a child's birth family is so important to us because we always want to make sure that and let the child know where they came from. Uh We're open to pretty much anything, uh texts, emails, facetime, sharing pictures, we're just pretty open with whatever the birth parents are comfortable with.

What one word describes your family best? Why?

Nicole and Brian: The one word that describes our family is comical. This is Max, our Boston terrier. Uh He's got a big personality. Uh I have a big personality and we're constantly making Nicole laugh being silly, having fun. Um Both sides of our immediate families. Both uh have big personalities so we're constantly laughing, enjoying life. Uh, Max is a huge part of it. And uh yeah, that's us.

What makes your family stand out?

Nicole and Brian: One thing that's special to us is how we met. We both went to school together but didn't really talk to each other. And then years later after graduation we reconnected on Facebook. Um, and then talked to each other for a little bit. Yeah, like Nicole said we grew up in the same neighborhood. Uh, we weren't really friends growing up. Um, ended up going to all the same schools, ended up messaging her on Facebook after high school. Uh, we started dating and we have been together ever since.
