Speaker: Tara C.
Tara C.: I feel like sometimes in a doctor's office, uh, I was rushed. Whereas, uh, with Oshi on your 30 minute Zoom call, you really just get, um, all the details you need and you leave the conversation fully satisfied that you got all of the answers that you needed for that particular time with a plan.
How did you feel about your GI symptoms before starting care with Oshi, and how do you feel about them now?
Tara C.: Before I first met with an Oshi practitioner about 6 months ago, um, I didn't know that I had any problems. Um, I definitely suffered from diarrhea, constipation for, for decades. Um, indigestion, uh, bloating and gas became more problematic in recent years, and I think that these are symptoms that we're led to believe are normal. Um, and also they're kind of embarrassing. They're not things that you necessarily wanna openly talk about, uh, with friends, and frankly, even sometimes with doctors. um, but there was something about the way that I was able to uh communicate with my GI provider uh via Oshi and the registered dietitian where I felt comfortable uh being forthcoming and, and opening up about my habits and my behaviors and my symptoms and was able to finally get the help I really needed.
What tips or strategies have you learned while working with Oshi that are helping you live a better life today?
Tara C.: It's hard to believe that I only started speaking with a representative at Oshi just 6 months ago, finding out if my insurance covered the care and what a life changing decision that was for me. I've learned so much from meeting with my GI provider and my registered dietitian, um, some tips for helping me to live a better life, everything from eating slower, the type of supplements that I should be using, how much, uh, how many, um, going into like the really um fine details of um particulars in terms of How much fiber should I be consuming, um, you know, the pros and cons of different brands, uh, just the kinds of food that I'm eating, learning to, um, listen to my body a little bit more. Um, it, it's been life-changing. I can't say it enough, and, uh, in 6 short months, I've experienced such an improved overall wellness through this program.
How would you describe your Oshi experience to a friend who’s struggling with similar symptoms?
Tara C.: I've described my Oshi experience to several family and friends and it's frustrating um that they don't pick up the phone immediately um and I think back to when I received my mailer that I hesitated, uh, it was on my fridge for a few months before I finally picked up the phone to find out more information. My Oshi experience has been phenomenal Um, I had never worked with a registered dietitian before, so I was ecstatic that I was able to not only do it and that it was covered, but that it was via Zoom. There was something about the virtual telecare visits that made things more accessible for me and and fit into my busy workday. Additionally, uh, everything I've experienced with the GI provider has been in tandem with the advice of the registered dietitian. I feel like in my experience going to my regular GI, I didn't always get the attention and the time that I needed to uh ask follow up questions and, and get specifics. I feel like sometimes in a doctor's office, uh, I was rushed. Whereas, uh, with Oshi on your 30 minute Zoom call, you really just get, um, all the details you need and you leave the conversation fully satisfied that you got all of the answers that you needed for that particular time with a plan, and then a visit summary that you could, um, review after. So I tell everybody they should just do it. Um, it's, it's one of the best things I ever did.
