The truth is we almost didn't apply to OrthoPitch 2024. It was just a super busy time. It was July of 2023. We were working on this big grant application and we were just slammed. So we were going,
bring a lot of value to the company. We almost didn't do it, but a business consultant at the time encouraged me to do it.
Then in December we get a notice that we were selected as one of the four finalists and we were kind of blown away by that too. But cool! Ok, I'm going to San Francisco in February and get to pitch the company.
And honestly, I really didn't know what to expect.
I was just blown away when I got there because it was standing room only and it was 45 minutes before start time.
It was a fun event and I had a great time just interacting with the judges and the audience. And then there was a vote at the end and CytexOrtho was fortunate enough among, you know, I thought three other great companies and I thought they were all deserving to win too and we were lucky enough to walk away with the win.
Not only was it fun, but the rewards we got on the on the back-end were really awesome. And so we're still out there trying to raise funds, but, you know, having that validation from winning the inaugural OrthoPitch competition was just really great for CytexOrtho.
We've gotten lots of press and lots of publications because of it, lots of social media posts, lots of interaction with investors. Just an incredible event. So I would definitely encourage anybody interested in having that kind of experience to apply.
