Speaker: Pamela DeWitt-Meza, RN

Pamela DeWitt-Meza: I said yes to nurse coaching because I feel like it just felt right in my spirit. It feels like everything I've done in the past has prepared me for this moment exactly now, and I feel like it provides such a beautiful modality to be with people and support and co-create,

What was going on in your life and career that made you want to join NLCA?

Pamela DeWitt-Meza: So I got to nurse Life Coach Academy through really just a state of tremendous burnout. I've been a nurse for about 23 years and I've had a really great career. I bounced around between some different things, um, labor and delivery. I've been a sexual assault nurse examiner, did parish nursing for a while, uh, worked in the integrative health space, and then ended up in a youth clinic that was really rewarding and Working full time just was very depleting and I just started feeling really heavy like the movie where you. Hit the alarm clock, you work all day, you come home, you've got nothing, you get up and you do it all again, and it was affecting my sleep and really my quality of life, and I had no balance, and I saw the ads for Nurse Life Coach Academy and I was like, you know, this is just perfect for where I am right now, and I had seen uh the career of nurse coaching years ago, but it just wasn't the right time or I believe the right organization, but this is. Just really spoke to me and I was really excited to join um a cohort and do my certification.

What made you say yes to becoming a nurse coach?

Pamela DeWitt-Meza: I said yes to nurse coaching because I feel like it just felt right in my spirit. It feels like everything I've done in the past has prepared me for this moment exactly now, and I feel like it provides such a beautiful modality to be with people and support and co-create, and it is just everything I believe in, it just feels right and I love that it is so. Integrative and helps connect all the pieces, the body, mind and the spirit together, and I'm really excited about the opportunity to be able to use my spiritual side, which is really, really important to me, so I'm just beyond excited.

What has changed for you since certification?

Pamela DeWitt-Meza: So I'm only about halfway through our course so far, our certification program, and I can say I already feel like it's made a huge impact. I'm feeling calmer, I feel like I'm more in my zone. I'm really enjoying the pro bono sessions and so many times I'm just feeling very present, which is, which is a gift, uh, even to myself, not only to others, I feel like I have more of a growth mindset. Um, meaning that I'm sort of less attached to beliefs that I've held on for a long time and I'm more curious about my own thoughts, um, about situations around me and about people and interactions, so I just feel overall calmer and just really excited about all the growth and learning that's taken place, and I feel like it already, I've already learned a ton in just half of the course.

What are you most proud of?

Pamela DeWitt-Meza: So far I'm just most proud that I actually took the leap of faith and that I'm here and that I did it and then I made the decision for me to do this program, it is just so great when everything aligns and you feel like you listen to your gut and whatever, whatever you have to go through to get there, you just do it, and there's just such a huge payoff and it feels so good and I'm really proud that I did it. That I took the leap that I'm here and that I'm just also very open to all the growth, all the lessons, all the feedback, anything I'm just open, open, open right now, and it feels so good to just have this really pure sense of learning and wanting to grow and develop, it just feels great.

What would you say to a nurse considering joining Nurse Life Coach Academy?

Pamela DeWitt-Meza: To anyone out there considering this program, I say just do it, it is so worth it, the value here is incredible, it is, there's so much more value than I even believed would be here when I signed up, when I heard about the course, when I read. Um, when I did the call with uh Laura, there's just so much more value in this course than I thought even possible. It is just tremendously valuable, and you know, I intend to use this and to go into private practice, but if I didn't, I can tell you it would still be worth it. It is just so valuable, the learning and growing that you do as a person. Um, it's just life changing and transformational, and so I, I say it's just go if your gut says yes, just go for it.
