Speaker: AMY LYNN FRAME, Transformational Coach
What was going on in your life and career that made you want to join NLCA?
AMY LYNN FRAME: At the time of joining Nurse Life Coach Academy, I had already been pursuing becoming a coach for a couple of years. What I was looking for was a deeper understanding of how to really support my clients, um, from a more holistic standpoint, from a life standpoint. Um, in the medical world, we're constantly taught about disease processes, but I wanted to understand the psyche and under and to understand other people's psyche. I really had to dive deep into my own psyche. And so this has been an incredible journey for me to learn more about myself. Um, and it has had an incredible impact on my on my practice, um, and on my coaching. So that is how I ended up here at Nurse Life Coach Academy.
What made you say yes to becoming a nurse coach?
AMY LYNN FRAME: What made me say yes to becoming a nurse coach was this desire to do something different. I have been a nurse for 15 years and an emergency medicine most of that time. And during that time, I would say over the last 1010 years of that, yeah. I just saw a lot of individuals becoming sicker and sicker. Uh. Basically becoming a revolving door in the ER for them in and out, in and out. And I was pretty exhausted myself. I really didn't feel like I was making the impact that I wanted to make, and I definitely didn't feel like I was um really being able to support individuals on holistic. Standpoint, which we've been taught so much about in nursing school, and yet you just didn't see it in the actual um hospital setting. And so nurse coaching was a way for me to start really learning about um how to marry my belief in holistic mind body spirits uh with um medicine. And so that is why I joined and uh started this journey.
What has changed for you since certification?
AMY LYNN FRAME: Send certification. I opened my own 1 to 1 practice. I would say um that this is in itself is an incredible feat, but to be honest, what's really, really, really been amazing in my life is my ability to walk through difficult things, um, opening your own practice and becoming a coach and mentoring and working with individuals, um. Walking them through coaching has been incredible, uh, but my own transformation has even been more incredible. Um, I now live on 6 acres, small homestead that me and my family have been dreaming about for years. I work for myself. I make my own hours. I am present with my children. Um, I do not miss any family functions. I get to go to all the holidays, um, and then not only that, but I'm actually living. Living my dream, I garden, we have animals, um. And yeah, it's just, it's been such a cool, cool transformational experience in itself. Um, and then, not only that, but I get to walk my clients through that. And, um, some of these individuals have had these big dreams or have been very sick, uh, for years and years and years. And just by me sitting with them for a short period of time, they have hope again, they have inspiration, they're excited. Um, that's the magic of this work.
What are you most proud of?
AMY LYNN FRAME: What am I most proud of? Mm. I I'm most proud. Um Taking the path that I knew that I wanted to for trusting, um, really, really for taking a leap of faith. I, I would say that. Uh, this journey is all about taking leaps of faith, and um, I'm just so proud that I said yes, I'm so proud that I keep showing up. I'm so proud that um That I see healthcare shifting because more people are joining this movement of um bringing a holistic lifestyle, food, um, body movement, uh, just even recognizing like the shift in mindset uh for our nurses and for all of the people that we touch, um. I'm so proud of. The nursing field for opening up something like this for deciding to put in the hours to create programs like this. Um, so yes, I am, I'm proud of myself, but I am proud of us as a collective, cause none of this would be possible without all of us.
What would you say to a nurse considering joining Nurse Life Coach Academy?
AMY LYNN FRAME: Do it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. There is so much personal growth in this program that regardless of what you do with the information afterwards or what you've learned afterwards, you are going to be a different version of yourself. Um, you're gonna show up more fully, more authentic, more real, um. You're going to be able to see your blind spots. Learn how to navigate them, meet yourself with grace, um, do it. There is a. I fully believe in the power of self-growth, and that is exactly what this program is all about.
