Speaker: Michele Bolton, Program Team Leader
Please take a moment to introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Northern Human Services.
Michele Bolton: Hi, I'm Michele and I have worked here at Northern Human Services for almost 20 years. Seventeen of those, I was a community integrator and almost three, I've been a team leader. I really enjoyed being a community integrator, but when the chance arose to apply for a team leader position, I thought it was time to move up. And I'm very happy I did.
What is the best part about living, working and playing in the North Country of New Hampshire?
Michele Bolton: The best part about living and working playing in the North Country. I love to ATV. My husband and I ride the trails. We've even gone as far as Gorham. I snowmobile. Snowmobile with coworkers. Snowmobile with friends. Lots of poker runs...a lot of fun. Friends have a camp in Pittsburgh on the lake. We're allowed to use their camp. We can swim, we can boat, we can paddle board. It's just so much fun and we get together with friends quite often and just make the best of what the North Country has to offer, which is beautiful.
What benefits are the most important to you as an employee of Northern?
Michele Bolton: I would have to say the most important benefits to me, is my vacation, sick time. I am at the point in my career where I'm working on six weeks of it a year that I can do whatever I want with. I also earn 11 paid holidays, which is nice. You can make those in the long weekends. You can use your time for whatever it is. It could be really anything you want. And the flexibility at my job to use that, it is easy and good if I want to take a half an afternoon off to go see a ballgame. If I need a few hours off for a doctor's appointment. If I just want to go home and cook for the afternoon, it doesn't matter. Those are really great benefits.
