Speaker: Jessica, Mobile Crisis Clinician

Please take a moment to introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Northern Human Services.

Jessica: Hello, my name is Jessica. I'm a mobile crisis clinician and I've worked for Northern Human Services for 2.5 years now.

What is the best part about living, working and playing in the North Country of New Hampshire?

Jessica: So I moved to the North Country I want to say about six or seven years ago now. And I initially still worked in Southern New Hampshire and was commuting down. So, I can say that after starting with Northern and being able to fully commit to the North Country, what I've really enjoyed most about it is, I love the nature. I love going outside. I love hiking, the ATVs, the community, the rural environment. It's a very big change from living life in the city. It's quiet, everybody knows everybody, which is great. You're also able to offer a bunch of resources for people that are not able to get the same things as they are down south, so to speak. So, it's really just a whole new environment. I've really enjoyed it. I love the outdoors. There's always somewhere you can go hiking, fishing, there's camping, there's new trails to explore at all times. And we also tend to have a lot of like fun activities around the area like the fairs, River Fire and all these different things that I didn't experience when I lived down in Southern New Hampshire. So, I've really enjoyed the change and the difference in culture in the community.

Work-life balance is important to our well-being. Describe what work-life balance means to you & how you feel NHS helps you meet your needs.

Jessica: I've never had a job that offered such a work-life balance as I do with Northern Human Services. I enjoy the flexibility of working entirely remote from home, which offers me the opportunity to kind of care for my children, my home, work and really dedicate a lot of time to my self-care while I'm still working. There's a lot of flexibility in my schedule as a clinician and being able to fit my needs into my work schedule as well. I think that's really been great and being able to focus on myself as well as my career and my family. As well as Northern being really accommodating to my military life as my husband is active duty for the Air Force. So I've really appreciated everything they've been able to do for me to still allow me to work and fit life and family and motherhood into my schedule as well.
