Speaker: Jasmine Hayes, ED&I Manager

Jasmine Hayes: My name is Jasmine Hayes and I'm the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Manager here at North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association.

Jasmine Hayes: Our E D and I work here at N CS E A is not only impactful internally but it is also impactful externally. We continue to celebrate uplift and support developing communities on their clean energy journey while also celebrating the diverse faces of clean energy, working with an organization that is committed to the growth and development of E D. And I is very important to me. We are each able to utilize our unique talents and skills to aim and represent the future of sustainability and clean energy.

Why is the ED&I work that NCSEA does meaningful to you? OR Tell me about working on the ED&I team at NCSEA?

What do you enjoy most about being on the ED&I team?

Jasmine Hayes: The one thing I enjoy the most about working with our E D and I team is getting everyone's perspectives. We all think differently. We were raised differently, culturally, we are different. But to get everyone's engagement to try to figure out what our vision is, what our mission is. What our goal is in the E D and I Space at N CS E A is very exciting to me. We're able to collaborate, we're able to do different activities, different events, just learning more about one another and also learning more about one another culturally within the clean energy space.

What does the future look like for ED&I at NCSEA?

Jasmine Hayes: The future of E D N I here at N CS E A looks like growth and development. I see new and innovative ways of continuing the E D N I conversation. I envision wi women in clean energy as a program across North Carolina. I also see N CE A starting an H BC U initiative to engage more of the students and communities, getting them more involved in the clean energy culture.
