Jasmine Hayes: Energy Association, Our ED&I work here at NCSEA is not only impactful internally, but it is also impactful externally. We continue to celebrate uplift and support developing communities on their clean energy journey while also celebrating the many diverse faces of clean energy. Working with an organization that is committed to the growth and development of ED&I is very important to me. We are each able to use our unique talents and skills to aim and represent the future of sustainability and clean energy.

Hannah Budds: Back when I first started working at NCSEA about a year and a half ago, one of the first things that I was asked was, do I want to join the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion team? And for me, one of the things that I was looking for in a workplace was an organization that takes into account the fact that there is so much we need to do in terms of not only the clean energy transition but also advancing a clean energy transition that is equitable. And that serves all North Carolinians, especially those like low income communities and communities of color, who have traditionally been left out of public policy discussions and who need to be brought to the table to ensure that we're including everyone in this transition. So I think as far as the work of ED&I at NCSEA I'm passionate about it and I love being able to engage in deep conversations where we're able to critically analyze how we transition to clean energy.

Dr. Rita Joyner: The future of ED&I and NCSEA is promising with the focus of embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion into all aspects of business operations policy and advocacy work at the initial stages of program development and not as an after thought or add-on. NCSEA will continue to engage members and partners in meaningful dialogue and action focused strategies that advance our ED&I mission and work that continue to make North Carolina a leader in clean energy transition and a better place to live for all North Carolinians.
