What year did you go through NIADA's Certified Master Dealer program and what do you remember most about that experience?
I took the CMD course in 2007 we were about to go into economic downturn and I was looking for ways to improve my business so I can understand my numbers a little bit better and the course absolutely did that. Um you know the things that I learned in that course were kind of eye opening. I had been in business for 22 years at that point and I thought I knew my numbers pretty well but once I took the course and started looking at things like inventory turn and you know the balance sheet as well as the profit and loss. I learned that you know there were things that I could improve And I took it one step further. I broke down different departments and was able to find things in different departments that we could definitely improve on and it helped me run the business much more efficiently. If I was a new dealer I would absolutely suggest this you know it's great to know you know what you have for numbers before you start um you know if I had done this 22 years earlier I can tell you you know business has been good to me but I think you know it probably would have been better um that CMB designation at the end of your name shows consumers that you care enough to get educated to make your business better and you know it's like any other education you know it's well worth. You know the price you pay to take it and the following continuing education that comes with it is huge. It just helps you run your business more efficiently. We don't know, we don't know, you know, so when you go into these courses, you know, there's something that you don't know all of a sudden, you do find out what that is and it definitely helps you in the long run. I would highly suggest this CMB program for anyone in business, whether you've been in business for a year or 20 years, it is definitely worth your time and effort.
