The NIADA Weekly Washington DC - Advocacy Update

Brett Scott: happy new Year. Everyone, this is Brett scott VP of government affairs at N. I. D. A. And I just wanted to provide everyone with a quick update of everything Washington D. C. As many of you know, the 118th congress has started that has led to republicans voting for a speaker usually as history shows that the minority leader um has the full support of the party going into a majority. That has been has called us in turmoil recently with kevin McCarthy has failed bids on three opportunities to become speaker. The next big thing for him this week is to become speaker if that's likely. And then um officially the 118th congress can begin. New members have been sworn in there, they're holding their member elect swearing in parties which an idea an idea has been attending. Um and we will continue to be the voice of Washington D. C. Or be the voice for an I. D. A. In Washington D. C. We are continuing to ring the bell on all things oversight and regulatory agencies right to repair as well as catalytic converter theft. So once the new congress gets its legs we will start be start engaging with members on both the House and Senate to make sure that they know where an idea stands
