Who are you and who do you help?
Margaret Hill: Aloha, I'm Peggy Hill and I practice in Hawaii. My clientele span all ages and span the, I see many autistic kids. I primarily work with anxiety and depression. I've seen some borderline personality, people with borderline personality and helped them reregulate themselves. This is what I do.
What problem were you trying to solve when you found NewMind?
Margaret Hill: I began my neurofeedback journey using EEG Institute, hardware and software and easily switched to Cygnet when the company began making Cygnet. I really like Cygnet, but my second system needed to be one that could do brain mapping and therefore I invested in Brain Master equipment. Brain Master is excellent quality equipment. However, the software I found very confusing and difficult to use. So when NewMind came out with their training and brain mapping software, I switched and I have really enjoyed using it.
What made you choose NewMind over anything else you could have done?
Margaret Hill: NewMind software, the brain mapping software, is entirely integrated with the NewMind Training software in that when a file is developed in the brain mapping software, it automatically integrates with the training software. Therefore I don't have to re-enter client data. I merely have to enter protocols as they change. Also, I can find each training episode in the brain mapping software. The brain mapping software also has integrated into it some very very fine the cognitive emotional checklist, the ISI, the physiology, and the cognitive testing is very very helpful and helps both my client and myself understand what will respond to brain training, neurofeedback, and what will really need to be addressed through cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.
What type of results or successes have you achieved with NewMind?
Margaret Hill: The ability to map a client's brain has taken my practice to a new level. In that, I truly understand what's going on now, which I didn't before. And I am able to address the client's issues specifically and immediately. This is thanks to the embedded cognitive emotional checklist, the progress tracking, the recording of each session and the ease of transferring data from brain mapping to training. My clients have always done well. NewMind has simply made it much much easier and I'm really pleased with it.
How would you describe what NewMind is, to a colleague, and why would you recommend it to them?
Margaret Hill: The first description that comes to mind with NewMind is integration and ease, and I recommend that colleagues switch to NewMind software because of the ease and the integration.
