Speakers: Shadi, Retirement Memory Book
Shadi: Our CEO had suddenly retired and so we were looking to come up with some activities to just kind of acknowledge her time with us at the California Primary Care Association. And you know, because it was so quick, it was just, hey, what can we do right away? And an idea in our thought and our thought group was just, let's let's come up with a memory book. And so my task from the organization was to find a find a software that could do that for us. And when I googled, you know, memory book retirement book, there was a couple of different program softwares that popped up and after doing a little bit more research, I ended up selecting Newlywords and one of the... one of the most important reasons was that we could develop, you know, start collecting all these memories and pages and then you know share this electronic version of the book before printing the actual physical copy. And so that was kind of cool because we wanted to show you know this project to our CEO at her retirement party. So that's what we ended up doing. What I really enjoyed about Newlywords was just just the ease like you know, I'm not very tech savvy, I just want to be able to get into something that's very self explanatory, which is something I feel like all of us want to do. And you know after registering my account and playing around and seeing what was available you know and the pricing as well, we just figured that was the way to go. And something that made the set up of the memory book easy was just the templates that they already had offered. So it's like you got the select from I think you know 6-8 templates and you got to pick which ones you wanted. So you just wanted a paragraph or a picture with a memory. So it was easy and that way when you shared the book with who you needed it, who you need to design it, they had that option in front of them and it was self explanatory for them as well. So another another reason why we loved it is just because we were not only having our internal staff submit memories and comments, but we were also having external staff or are members with our organizations. So it was just really easy to share and collect as many memories and comments as we can.
