Speaker: Samira Dixon
Are you living as a New Creation in Christ now?
Samira Dixon: So to be honest, I'm not sure, I actually just started studying out the scripture the other day and thinking about what that actually means. Like I know, you know, that it means yes, like once I have come to salvation, once I've confessed, I believe that Jesus is, you know, Savior and Lord of my life, that I'm now a new creation. But you know, what does that look like? Practically every day as a believer. I'm just now like coming to a point of asking the Lord about that and studying that out.
As a New Creation in Christ, what does this mean to you?
Samira Dixon: As a new creature in Christ. Um That means that I am, yeah, that I've been made new, that the old is gone, that it's passed away. And now I am new in Jesus that, you know, my sins no longer have me bound that I'm no longer sentenced to death. Um But I now have life and life in Christ because the Lord has come and um cleansed me of all of my sins. And now now I'm forgiven. Now I can live, you know, not under the weight of my sin, but I now can live under the weight of the freedom of Christ. Um And I can live, yeah, like I can live a free life um being bound to him instead of bound to being a bondage to sin and a slave to sin. Now, I can be, you know, a slave to Christ, which means that I'm free. So that's what it means to me to be a new creation in Christ. And also that, you know, I can always walk in a uh in levels of newness every day. So not only was I made a new creature in Christ once I accepted him but every day that I live, I can experience new levels of, of being new and being sanctified and being set apart and being consecrated. Um So, yes.
If you have an opportunity to find out what others have shared, would you like to share yours on online with a small group?
Samira Dixon: Yes, I would be open to finding out what other believers will think about the question and being able to share, um, my thoughts as well with others.
As a New Creation in Christ, would you like to learn more about it?
Samira Dixon: Yes, I would love to know more about being a new creation in Christ. Um Like I said, I just now started studying that scripture the other day and, you know, really wanted to dig in deeper, to learn more about what it looks like practically to walk this out every day.
What would you like to learn specifically?
Samira Dixon: I would like to learn specifically what it looks like to embrace my newness in Christ each day. Um You know, I've been saved for a while. So, you know, that scripture I know can apply and does apply to a new believer. But also I think that it has implications for, I guess the seasoned believer as well. Um And so I really wanna know like what it looks like to embrace that every day that I wake up um every day that I'm given another opportunity to be in relationship with God. And yeah, what it looks like to embrace his newness.
