Could you describe a time that National Business Education Association helped you?
Becca Mercer: The National Business Education Association helped me by pushing me to step up and go beyond just my, the walls of my classroom. Um I was actually able to present at an NBEA conference when I was just in my third year teaching. Um And that really helped me grow as an educator.
How would you describe National Business Education Association in three words?
Becca Mercer: I don't know that I can think of three words right off the top of my head. But one that I think is like the word to describe NBEA is that it's needed. Um For me, my district doesn't really provide a lot of professional development for us as business educators. There's plenty of things that we can pull into our classroom. Uh But, you know, a lot of professional development that's offered is really focused at those core four classes. And so having NBEA to be a place where I can access professional development to help me um continue to grow as a teacher, as an advisor, um as all the different hats that I wear at school. It's amazing.
What is the main benefit you receive from NBEA?
Becca Mercer: The main benefit that I've received from NBEA is professional development and tools to use in my classroom. Things that I would not have known about, things that I could not have um grown in, applied in my classroom without having attended NBEA, either virtual sessions throughout the year or their conference.
