What is your motivation for and why are you applying to serve on the NACE Board of Directors?

Nicole Hall: I am fortunate to work in a profession that I love and to have the distinct pleasure of supporting the development of college students. It has been an absolute honor to serve on the board of directors and it has been one of the most significant ways that I have contributed to shaping and supporting our field. Through my service on the board, I have helped to uh to support strategic direction. I have contributed to creating professional networks for our members and helped to equip our members with tools and resources that can support their work and their careers. Some of the most precious moments have been informal and those are the opportunities where I've been able to mentor new professionals to the field. It would be an absolute honor to serve as chair of n not only to continue to advance the contributions that I have made, but also to leave an indelible impact on the organization and on our field. Uh If given the honor of serving as chair, there are several things I would like to focus on including advancing the number of members that we have from two year colleges. Um There is a lot of potential for attracting more of those organizations to contribute to the rich of N I also would like to continue the discussions and actions related to the inequity that exists with the wage equity gap for college women. Na has created visibility around that. And I would like to work with the board and members to now move from visibility to actions so that we can enact change. I also think an important area of focus is show facing successful partnerships between university relations and universities, career services. There has been a significant shift in the landscape of recruiting on college campuses. And I know many peers are struggling with attracting a robust number of employers to recruit on campus. And I believe that N can showcase what's happening the trends and can help in that area. Uh I would also like to um focus on positioning N as a thought leader in the space of the skills based market. They have done a phenomenal job in creating a focus on the importance of paid internships. But we know that students are engage aging in many work based learning experiences including working on campus, undergraduate research projects with employers and certifications. And I believe that NAS is uniquely positioned to provide national data that can support university relations and career services. And so it has been an absolute privilege to serve N A and I would love the opportunity to serve as chair. I believe my experience leading career centers for 20 years, as well as the professional growth that I've gained through N A has created a very strong alignment between my leadership and values and na priorities. Through my na path, I have been able to contribute in many ways and it would be a distinct honor to serve as chair.
