Speaker: Dr. Catrina DosReis, Director, Learning and Development, McKinney

What is your motivation for and why are you applying to serve on the NACE Board of Directors?

Dr. Catrina DosReis: Hi, I'm Doctor Katrina D Os Reis. I'm a proud mom, wife, educator, and organization developer. And today I'm excited to nominate myself for the N A board of directors. 2025 26. I've been a member of N A throughout my entire career, starting as an internship coordinator, moving into counseling, employer relations, management, and then leading college career services. And through it all, NACE has been my anchor for best practices, research and inspiration. So, serving in this organization in a meaningful way has always been a dream of mine and it's my deep commitment to support others just as NA has supported me. My motivation and reason for applying is about adding value, which is twofold. First, my experiences and research and career services particularly H BC US allows me to bring a unique perspective. I am so proud of the work N has done to support H BC US as part of their D part of its D I efforts providing H BC US with research resources and professional development through its membership. I'm committed to building on this work, drawing from my doctoral research and career as a former H BC U career director to amplify the voices of these institutions and their expectation of trust and genuine investment from employers. I hope to offer insights on career readiness, experiential learning, employer partnerships and the onboarding of career professionals on H BC U campuses. Second, my leadership experience on both the college and employer sides gives me a balanced view of our field through my work with N round tables, presentations and leadership roles. I've learned to bridge the needs of both sides find practical solutions and build consensus as a director of recruiting and now in learning and development, I bring a nuanced understanding of current issues like A I skills based hiring and performance management that are impacting the way we prepare for tomorrow's workforce. I believe I can add value in helping na continue to force the community among colleges and employers and engage other critical voices like university leaders and hiring managers who also influence the dialogue on career readiness. If given the chance to serve, I'll bring hard work, commitment, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit. Thank you for considering my candidacy and I wish this committee the best in this very important decision making process.
