Speaker: Rachel Stevens, Sr. Director, Human Resources (Exec VP), The Indianapolis Airport Authority

Briefly describe your program, the outcomes or impact, and what others can take away from it.

Rachel Stevens: The IAA's Human Resources Department is responsible for managing the organization's employees from recruitment to retirement, and that team plays a critical role in attracting, developing, and retaining the best talent while keeping employee efficiency at a high level. We're at the forefront of designing and implementing programs that not only bring in the top candidates, but also foster their growth and success throughout their careers. Right now, more than 25% of employees are expected to retire by 2027, leaving hundreds of positions open. The goal is to not only fill those positions, but fill them with the people who meet our high standards of customer service and Hoosier hospitality for which Indianapolis is internationally recognized for. 45% of the current workforce is under 40, and we knew we needed to approach our talent pipeline differently and prioritize equipping the next generation. To do this, we became a community leader in leading the efforts to jumpstart a student to career pipeline.
