Mariah Webster: My name is Mariah Webster and I'm employed with Orsted.
Why did you enroll in the NACE Inclusive Excellence Certificate program?
Mariah Webster: I enrolled in the NACE Inclusive Excellence Certificate program because about a year ago, I accepted a new role with my current employer as the Early Careers Program Manager for the Americas, where I get to work on embedding best practices for diversity, equity and inclusion into our early careers programs, including our new internship program. I'm excited about taking the learnings that I was able to discover and the insights that I gained from the certificate program and introducing them back into my company and being able to use data to drive decision making as we work to recruit the future of talent.
What did you enjoy most about the experience?
Mariah Webster: I really enjoyed that this was an in- person experience. I got to sit at a table with colleagues and hear firsthand about their experiences, the challenges that they were currently working through, be able to
Mariah Webster: working through, be able to use data and work through actual case studies, gaining all of those insights in real time was very helpful for me and will help me as I continue throughout this learning journey.
What should others know about the program?
Mariah Webster: If you're thinking about enrolling in this program, you should know that it's intensive and it requires real work. It's going to challenge you to think in ways that maybe you haven't thought before, but it will make you a more well-rounded person and practitioner having gone through the certificate program. I would strongly encourage you to take the program. I would strongly encourage you to really come with an open mind and also to really think about how you might be able to utilize the skills that you gain through this program and your everyday role and how you might be able to challenge your colleagues in your workplace once you return to utilize these best practices as well.
