Briefly describe your program, the outcomes or impact, and what others can take away from it.
Kelli Smith: The Binghamton University Fleischman Career Center Skills lab was created in response to evolving changes in college recruiting, our students craving in-person connection, and the skills-based hiring movement. Skills labs are typically 90 minutes, and we leverage our employer and alumni connections to provide our students hands-on training of high-demand skills that they need as employers from AI fluency to project management, while also building their brand on campus. This may be needed more than ever with the World Economic Forum estimating nearly 40% of core skills employers need today will be different by 2030. Over 400 students engaged in our program last year with 100% reporting a better understanding of their industry. The success led to funding for a new 5,000 square foot skills lab programming space to open next summer to expand our footprint. It's a relatively easy yet simple concept that can be replicated. Thank you.
