Speaker: Ashley Leonard, Program Manager, Medtronic
Briefly describe your program, the outcomes or impact, and what others can take away from it.
Ashley Leonard: My name is Ashley Leonard and I am the WISE Women in Science and Engineering Program Manager at Medtronic. The WISE program is designed to engage students who are earlier in their academic career, so specifically targeting students who are rising college, freshmen and sophomores, and we create and foster an inclusive environment where future scientists and engineers are empowered to thrive and reach their full potential. Through our program, students gain hands-on experience supporting real-world medical device projects, receive meaningful mentorship, expand their professional networks, and build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their STEM journey. Beyond the technical experience, students leave the program with increased confidence, stronger professional skills, meaningful connections, and a clearer vision for their future in STEM. Here at Medtronic, our goal is to create a pathway for those that are interested to convert to a full-time employee.
