Violeta Donawa, LMSW, MA: Peami is Violetta Donnawa here. I am an EMDR trauma therapist and clinical social worker based in Detroit, Michigan. Um, I run a private practice, uh, called Notice that therapy, uh, PLLC, and I'm here to answer this really fun question, um, so that we can, uh. Help listeners, supporters of Nami, build out self-care tool kits to take care of themselves, um. This season, so for me. How do I take care of myself? Trying to beat this summer heat. Well, I'm a new mom to a toddler. And like they say, you can't beat them, join them. So I have chosen to go out with my husband and go out with my son go to parks, go to um Blile, which is a beloved beloved beloved space in my hometown of Detroit. Um, I've started to test my green thumb and trying to establish a garden and watching my husband also grow his vegetables and just watching my son bask in this heat now that he can run and climb and walk and do all the things so I um I'm practicing gratitude for what this heat does have to offer. Um, I hope that feels helpful to other people wondering. How can I do a low cost thing and still have a good time um in the fresh air? So going outside being in nature. Integrating play, I think those have been really important to me.
