Why did you choose to enrol in the Mr Mentor Commercial Broker Program, and what challenge or opportunity were you looking to address?
Katherine Looke: I chose to do the Mr. Mentor commercial broker programme because I found that in the diploma and the certificate, it didn't cover a lot of information for you to understand commercial brokering and the different types of lending that are available for clients. And the Mr. Mentor course was recommended to me and I am so happy that I chose to do it.
What were the most valuable outcomes you gained from the program whether in skills, confidence, business growth, or client results?
Katherine Looke: I really loved that it wasn't just coursework that we were going through and reading. There were actually scenarios that you could work through and implement what we were learning in real life so you could see the figures and see the whole scenario for a client, whether it was invoice finance. Seeing SMSF cash flow management. And then on top of that, having the tutoring sessions um online with one of the trainers was so valuable to ask all of the questions if something didn't make sense or if you had a scenario in process with a client that you could workshop. With them and get ideas and support. Since the course and those two main things, I was immediately able to start helping my business clients and provide really good outcomes for them because I had the training there and I'd done the scenarios and done the figures within the coursework.
Who do you believe would benefit most from the Commercial Broker Program, and why would you recommend it to them?
Katherine Looke: I've already recommended the commercial brokering programme to a couple of residential mortgage brokers who were wanting to get more into the commercial space because the diploma and the certificate doesn't really delve into any of the nitty gritty information you need to know to be able to do a business loan or a commercial loan that the commercial broker. answers a lot of questions and is really valuable. So you don't learn and trip over along the way, you learn and then you smash it because you've had the tools, you've had the support and the advice to be able to make a really good decision and recommendation to a client and not fumble your way through, especially if you don't have support. Within your network or your mentor doesn't know commercial lending, uh, it's becoming more and more popular, but there's a lot of brokers that just do commercial lending on the side, and don't understand all of the extra out of the box solutions that are possible for clients. So, anyone that's wanting to be a master in the business and commercial space for brokering should definitely do the programme.
