Speaker: Paul Weston, Director, Select Technology Ltd

Please introduce yourself and your job role.

Paul Weston: My name is Paul Weston. I'm the co-founder and Director of Select Technology Limited, a software distribution company with 22 employees. Just over 10 years ago, we opted to start working with a distributed workforce with all staff working from home, way before the pandemic. And as a result, we tend to outsource an awful lot of our back office systems.

How has Moorepay helped your business?

Paul Weston: There is absolutely no doubt that working with Moorepay has saved us both time and money. We always get prompt responses from them and they're very professional. The staff are very professional but friendly at the same time. However, I think the reason that I agreed to give this testimonial or one thing above all, was a particular circumstance. At the beginning of last year we found out that my five year old grandson in Australia had been diagnosed with leukemia. I, along with my wife, immediately arranged to get out to Australia. We were very lucky. That was literally the week that they opened up again after the pandemic and then began a time where we were spending six weeks in Australia. Well, obviously, the time difference is varying between nine and 11 hours, then two weeks back home, six weeks back in Australia, two weeks back home. And this went on throughout the year. It was exhausting [but] very valuable from our point of view because now I'm pleased to say my grandson's in remission. But during that time, it was very, very difficult. Fortunately because of the way we worked, working remotely I was still able to keep in touch. But obviously, with the time difference, this was problematic. And the various flights, you know, all those long distance flights made it very, very difficult. And during that time, one particular employee, Semhar Eyassu, (I think I've hopefully got her name correct) she went above and beyond the call of duty, in my opinion, the amount of work she did on my behalf on a few occasions where we had technical issues - and that was at our end, nothing to do with Moorepay - She actually did a lot of the work for me and provided that information, kept in touch asking about my grandson, which was very nice, but also going along with the work that went with it. And I can honestly say, this to a certain extent kept me sane during that time, during a very difficult period. So my full thanks to Semhar for that.

How have you found working with the Moorepay team?

Paul Weston: Moorepay's team is always efficient and very knowledgeable. To date, there's not been a single issue that they've been unable to resolve. And importantly, the follow up is always excellent as well.

How have you found using the software?

Paul Weston: Using Moorepay software is a good experience. We did a lot of research back in 2015 before taking on the software, comparing it with other packages that were around. We also talked to a number of other companies that were using it and all gave us a positive response. We also regularly, because of the nature of our company, we check with our staff on the software packages that we were using within the company and to get feedback from them and Moorepay always features within the top two in their responses. So, that's the response from the staff who are using it. That's the user experience from their point of view. I obviously look at it from the admin point of view. And again, I can say the experience is exceptional.

What is your favourite thing about using Moorepay?

Paul Weston: My favourite thing about using Moorepay is generally probably the interaction with the Moorepay staff. It's always very positive. It's always helpful. So I suppose the greatest compliment I can give them is that it feels exactly like using an in-house resource.
