Speaker: Eileen Ye, Social Media User
What does food mean to you?
Natasha Campbell: Food to me and this is cheesy, but food is love. Food connects people. Food just kind of fills me with joy.
Kylie: I feel like our love languages is just food. My friends and I we spam each other all day with just food. Man, this food looks really good. You should try this. You should try this yada yada yada.
Eileen Ye: other cultures. I love learning about different places, different foods and also learning more about where I came from through food.
Noella Parodi: Food to me means fun, it's enjoying new experiences and trying new things with a bunch of different people and family and friends.
How is using Mixo different from other content platforms like youtube, instagram or tiktok?
Natasha Campbell: So I would say that mixo is different from other content platforms because everything you want is in one place. Like all the cooking videos you want all of the food recommendations or restaurant recommendations you want is all in one place.
Eileen Ye: I love mixo because it allows you to follow recipes really easily. The format is made specifically for food, so I can save food content, either recipes or restaurants I want to go
Noella Parodi: Mixo is different from other social media's because it spotlights creators focusing on food content. So instead of going on like Tiktok or instagram and just being met with a bunch of different things, you're only surrounded by food content,
Kylie: With Tiktok, you have to quite literally watch from beginning to end and if you've missed something then well, that's too bad. You just got to watch from beginning to end again
Kylie: Um for me makes it was different just because it makes it a lot easier for you to discover food, recipes, cultural things even comedic things Like if you find a recipe, you really, really like, there's a whole video with it and then you can also see the ingredients and the whole entire way of doing it. The list, the recipe, everything like that. Even have little subtitles at the bottom that you can kind of scroll through and see what's going on. If you don't have the volume on or if you just kind of lost and what's going on. So that's really, really nice.
How would you describe Mixo to a friend?
Natasha Campbell: So I would describe mixo as a one stop place for all things like asian food, um any kind of interest, whether it's cooking or going to a restaurant or going to a festival or going to the grocery store, like all things asian food, whether it's east, asian or south asian is in this app and you can find anything you want, any kind of food you want, any kind of recipes you want. And so it's great for foodies.
Eileen Ye: I would describe mixo as the perfect social media platform because it allows you to connect with people, but it also allows you to find good food, which are two things that I love to do.
Kylie: We love food period and with mixo So it just puts everything food content related wise in one app. So if we want to be like, oh man, we're traveling to this place next week. Let's look what they have on mixo. Oh man. Did you see this recipe the other day? Like this looks really good. We should follow this one. You want to try something like that. I've never heard of it before. But let's try that. There's stuff like that. So it's pretty cool.
Now let's hear from food content creators...
