Speaker: Caroline Kercheval
What does receiving Spirit of State mean to you?
Caroline Kercheval: Being nominated for Spirit of State means so much to me. It means the world that people believe that I have the qualities and the leadership capacity that our amazing university represents. I don't only want to have the spirit of Mississippi State as a graduating senior, but I hope to carry these qualities and the lessons that Mississippi State has taught me as I enter towards my future career.
What has been your most rewarding experience at MSU?
Caroline Kercheval: My most rewarding experience at Mississippi State has been collectively being involved with so many amazing extracurricular organizations, from being president for the pre-health ambassadors to being vice president of Tri Delta to being a Maroon VIP and even participating in undergraduate research. All of these opportunities have given me a chance to grow as a leader and grow as a person who serves this campus. I'm so thankful for the organizations that have taught me so much, and I hope to continue the legacy of a Mississippi State University student as I head into my future.
In what ways can you continue to embody the Spirit of State?
Caroline Kercheval: Mississippi State has truly shown me what it looks like to really serve others. As I walk into my next step in medical school, I know that I will take the Spirit of State with me and learn how to serve my new community, just as Mississippi State has served me over the past four years.
