Speaker: Alina Nigmatullina
What does receiving Spirit of State mean to you?
Alina Nigmatullina : For me, Spirit of the State Award embodies commitment, engagement and contribution to the university's community. It signifies individuals who go above and beyond in their involvement, who selflessly serve their peers and leave a long-lasting positive impact for their actions and leadership. And I'm very honored to be a 2024 Spirit of the State Award recipient.
What has been your most rewarding experience at MSU?
Alina Nigmatullina : The most rewarding experience I had at Mississippi State University is definitely working with my student groups at the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center. Meeting people from all over the country and all over the world is the most enriching and eye-opening experience. Witnessing them achieving their goals, and seeing them succeed brings me immense joy. However, what makes this experience truly rewarding is that I also get to learn from them and have an opportunity to become a better person myself for working with those student groups.
In what ways can you continue to embody the Spirit of State?
Alina Nigmatullina : What I really admire about Mississippi State University is its commitment to fostering both professional and personal growth. Over the years that I've spent here, I had numerous opportunity to develop academically and experientially, and wherever my future may take me, I know that I will use those valuable lessons to continue to embody the Spirit of State.
