Speaker: Jorge Gonzalez, Spanish mobilization director, Launch Global

How does it feel to be an innovation award winner?

Jorge Gonzalez: Hello, I'm Jorge Gonzalez with Launch Global, and on behalf of our entire team, we're so grateful for this innovative innovation award. You know what, uh, they asked me how do I feel about this innovation award, and this just makes me think on David and Saul, you know, how David wanted to kill Goliath and Saul gave him this big armor, and it didn't fit well for him and uh he used what he got. He used the tools he he he have used for all his life. And it was an innovative way to kill Goliath, you know. Everybody would, would think that, uh, with a sword, with a spear, but he used a stone. And that's how I feel, humbled to even be considered uh for, for this innovation award, but at the same time we feel just God backing this plan. God wants to use uh the Spanish-speaking church to go to the unreached people places and we're so grateful that uh you can give us this uh grant for us so that we can advance what God has given us to do.

Could you share a few details about the innovative project that was funded?

Jorge Gonzalez: So because we have a passion for the 21 countries that speak Spanish and especially, especially for the 52 million Spanish-speaking Christians that are around the world. We want to provide the mobilization tools that we have learned and contextualized and that are working. We want to provide those tools and principles to the entire church. So one of the things we are working on is an online mobilization school that will be available for all the people that want to be trained and equipped on mobilization, also in coaching cohorts so that the people that are, are that are learning this online, they can have coaching coaches that will help them implement those in their local churches. And one of the things that I'm, I'm most passionate about is the mobilization hubs. Yeah, we're starting right now, we're in the middle of one here in Spain in Madrid, and we wanna start mobilization hubs around the Spanish speaking countries so we can train like in person with all the tools that they learn online, but now that we can be with them, you know, as, as, uh, Mark 3, 14, and 15, Jesus uh chose 12 to be with him and then He sent them to preach and we with that with, we want to be with people so that we can train them and they can, they can implement this to the in their local churches, so they can mobilize their local churches and send to the 1040 window.

What is the most innovative aspect of this project?

Jorge Gonzalez: Going again with the analogy of Saul's armor, and the stone that David used to kill Goliath, uh, one of the things that we think is the most innovative is just not, not trying to use only uh the tools that have been using, uh, mobilizing the, the English-speaking church, but contextualizing those tools and developing this. Online school that will provide all these tools that have been contextualized and new tools and provide this to the 21 Spanish speaking countries, this through via online. But we know that it's not only through, through online school that that's gonna happen. So, so, uh, a hybrid of online school with mobilization hubs that are gonna be in right now we have one in Spain, for example, where we wanna open in Latin America, Spain uh hubs that people that have gone through the online school will come to these hubs and have this. In person live experience based on Mark 3:13, you know, 3:14 that Jesus was with their disciples and walked with them. So, so not only online school mobilization hub but also having coaching cohort. that each of them will be equipped online, will be equipped, uh, live, but also we have a coach to implement those things in the churches so that we will see those churches thrive in sending to the 1040 window.

What difference do you hope this project will make?

Jorge Gonzalez: Despite its size and passion, the Spanish speaking church has been largely under-engaged in missions. Limited resources, lack of training in Spanish, and low awareness have made mobilization difficult. Right now, less than 1% of go to the unreached, less than 1% of go to the unreached come from Latin America. So we hope with this project to provide one mobilization resources to all people that we want via online. To provide training to those that would want more training via the hubs. And by those mobilizers going and implementing those things, church, churches sending goers to the unreached places.
