Speaker: Jeffrey Larson , Missionary physician, CEO and co-founder of MCCN, TEAM
How does it feel to be an innovation award winner?
Jeffrey Larson : Go. Hello from the Philippines. My name is Doctor Jeffrey Larson, and on behalf of the Evangelical Alliance Mission and the Member Care Collaboration Network, we wanna say thank you. We are deeply humbled and honored to receive the Mission Nexus Innovation Fund Award and the generous $50,000 grant. It's exciting to be recognized for something that we believe will help missionaries not just survive, but truly thrive. Your partnership is an incredible encouragement to our team and the network of volunteer providers that help make NCCN possible.
Could you share a few details about the innovative project that was funded?
Jeffrey Larson : Go. The Member Care Collaboration Network telecare project is truly revolutionary. Our app connects missionaries, no matter how remote, to the care they desperately need. We connect them to volunteer doctors, pastors, counselors, no matter where they are in their heart language. Right now, we are serving in the Philippines. We have 75 Filipino care professionals caring for over 700 Filipino missionaries from 18 different organizations. Your grant will help us improve our app to truly be able to scale to thousands more Filipino missionaries and ultimately around the world.
What is the most innovative aspect of this project?
Jeffrey Larson : Yeah. What makes the MCCN telecare project so innovative is its collaborative and scalable design. With a single access point, missionaries can access a vast global network of care providers. What this does is it empowers the local church to be able to use their gifts in care of missionaries in the most difficult to reach places.
What difference do you hope this project will make?
Jeffrey Larson : Yeah. The MO Nexus Innovation grant will help us to strengthen and secure our app. It's gonna help us be able to train more care coordinators so that we can care for more missionaries. It will help us to translate our app into additional languages ultimately so that we can move into more new sending nations around the world, being able to care for these missionaries. In the hardest to reach places. Ultimately, MCCN wants to see missionaries healthy, staying on the field, and thriving in their ministry for Kingdom Impact. And we believe that this app and your grant will help us to be able to do just that.
