What will we be making on Sunday, October 1st at the Milton Artists' Guild?
Rachelle Rose Forcier : So Social Sunday project is going to be a mask and my inspiration came from the month of October where we have Halloween and Halloween is been celebrated for almost 2000 years. It started off with people wearing masks during the 31st in the evening to scare away ghosts. In other places around the world, masks are used to celebrate many festivals. In Africa, there's one such festival called the Festima and you can see what that mask looks like. Another festival is on Chinese New Year where they wear masks to celebrate the New Year. And this one you might see around, it's got a lot of popularity lately and this is the Day of the Dead, which is a celebration in Mexico and Latin America. So for us though, we'll be making a superhero mask like this using puffy paint, glitter glue, stars, jems, elastic, and sticks and these are the patterns. So you can choose which type of superhero mask you would like. And it doesn't have to be a superhero mask. It could just be whatever mask you want it to be on this social Sunday, October 1st hope to see you there.
