Tell us what makes Midi unique & special
Jennifer Lanoff: I think what makes Midi special is all of the work that's gone into preparing providers to see patients. There are protocols for everything, there's a library, there's training. You don't just get thrown into the work without doing the work.
Donna Gregory: I've joined Midi recently and I'm just so in love with the care that we are able to provide. I actually found Midi through another clinician who's here. We are friends, we've taught together and she had said, "Listen, you have to come check this out." "We are able to provide such a high quality of care to women in such an underserved area." "I think you're gonna love it." And she was exactly right. So, I'm forever grateful that she brought me to Midi and just really enjoy the time that I am able to spend women and helping them to get into a spot where they feel really good about their health and themselves, and are doing wonderfully with good symptom management.
Share any great feedback you've gotten from a patient recently
Jennifer Lanoff: I think the nice thing about Midi is that we are really able to spend a lot of our time in our appointments listening to our patients, they filled out these really expansive medical histories. And so, we can really spend the time to just listen and make these patients feel heard because so many of them go to their doctors and their providers who won't really help them and tell them that menopause is just something that they have to get through or that their symptoms aren't menopause. Or they're not hot flashes, they're too young to be in menopause, so they don't need treatment. So I think one of the best parts about it is that all of my patients at the end of our meetings are really very grateful that they are finally being heard.
Donna Gregory: By far something that just makes my entire day when women say to me, "You know what, "Thank you so much." "You really listen to me and I finally feel heard." So that is always my favorite compliment.
Sarah Wallis: These are very difficult things to talk about and the fact that I have a patient that has come to me with all of these issues and says to me, "I feel safe with you." "I feel heard." This is why I do what I do.
Tell us an interesting patient story from your time at Midi
Jennifer Lanoff: I had one patient last week who had been to every single provider that she could possibly go to because she was a breast cancer survivor and no one would give her estrogen and she was suffering really, really significant night sweats and mood swings and all the symptoms that we know and love about menopause. We were able to really talk through what she needed. She had the kind of cancer where it was a triple negative. So it wasn't hormone responsive. And we talked about risks and benefits and we were able to start her on some hormone replacement therapy. And already she has called me, messaged me and said how much of a difference it makes. So I'm really happy that we were able to give her that care.
Sarah Wallis: Women from all walks of life, all backgrounds, all different experiences... All struggling with the same issues and feeling like they're alone in the universe or that the issues that they're dealing with are a personal failing... And for them to be able to come to us and connect with us and find that not only there's a rhyme and a reason for what they've been going through and it's not, it's NOT a moral failing. That there's help for it and that there's easy, safe, comfortable help for all of these issues is just so transformative.
