Speaker: Ankur Gupta, Dentist/Owner, North Ridgeville Family Dentistry

Briefly state who you are – Talk about your story and experience.

Ankur Gupta: Hi, everyone at the Michigan Dental Association. My name is, I'm a general dentist. I've been practicing just bread and butter, general dentistry for the past 20 years. I actually graduated from the University of Michigan and I've been an educator providing CD courses throughout the country for the past 12 years.

Discuss your session and why it excites you.

Ankur Gupta: You know, it doesn't matter if I talk about dental implants or clinical dentistry or leadership or whatever, it seems like every time I present a topic that people in the audience really just want to have a practice that allows them to sleep at night, a practice that allows them to feel like they're making a really positive impact on the people around them, the people they love, uh that they're creating a professional identity where they can come home from work and not feel totally overwhelmed and attacked and burdened. And that's where a lot of the content for my lectures comes from creating a professional life. It gives you the best possible likelihood of creating a overall life that you're proud of.

Explain why members should attend your session, and how the topic can positively impact the field of dentistry moving forward.

Ankur Gupta: OK, I think the secret to success is self experimentation is making the guinea pig out of yourself and your lifestyle and seeing what works and what doesn't. And so I think all of us, we run a practice that is really satisfactory. We should try to go down the street and we try to be conscientious and thorough. But one of the biggest blessings I've had by being an educator is that I'm constantly exposed to other dental educators and they're giving me little pieces of advice, just little, little tidbits about how to make segmentation of a crown a little more efficient or how to keep my team and my staff more engaged and more positive. But what I do is I take those little pieces of advice and I self experiment with them and I come back to work and I try certain things and I realize some things don't work and some things have a monumental impact. And the reason I'm so excited about teaching at the Machine Dental Association is that I'm gonna take those little things, those little pieces of advice that have the greatest posi greatest positive impact in my practice and share them with all of you.
