Donald Henig: Hi, I'm Don Hennig and I live on Long Island, New York.

How has cancer impacted you and/or those that you love?

Donald Henig: personally, about seven years ago, I was diagnosed with a tumor in my inner ear. When I went to the doctor and they sent me to the surgeon, I was still at the point of time in my life where I believed that the doctors were in charge. I didn't realize I was the captain of my own body and that I was in charge. So at that point, I go and I meet with the surgeon, and you know, what are the options? It's radiation or surgery; the surgery is an 11-hour surgery. They take your head off. You know, it's, it's a brain surgery. It's not a good thing, you know, lots of, lots of complications. That's not what I want to do. So, but I asked the question, "Can I go home and think about it?" And she said to me, "Yeah, but don't think too long." So, I went home, and where do you start? I don't know. It's not cancerous, but it's a tumor. So, I started researching tumors, cancer, alternative cancer therapies, thinking instead of surgery, what else can I do? Well, I started reading books and, reaching out to the authors of those books and then going to conferences which, which is where I met Dr. Nasha Winters, and, immediately, hearing her from the stage and so many people in the people in the audience were like, "Wow," like they, they, they were just blown away that Dr. Nasha Winters is gonna be at the conference, and I didn't know who she was at all. All I know is I was sitting in the back of the room and I was like, blown away. I was just like, "What she's saying is exactly what I wanted to hear. That there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and the light is not necessarily surgery and radiation, that could be part of something, but there's a lot of other things that could be done. A lot of other things. So, I started going down the path. I met with her. I started learning so much, and now, I'm on a life learning mission that's exciting. It's fun, and I've been able to help a number of other people as a result of it. Well, the, the interesting thing for me is, the things that I learned at these conferences, and through Dr. Nasha Winters, about seven months after my diagnosis, and this is something that never goes down, it only gets bigger and, and, you know, until it kills you. And, about seven months later, we had another hearing test, and I had no hearing at all in this year, and my balance was shot, it was completely gone. Well, if somebody spoke in a room, I wouldn't know where that noise was coming from. Seven months later, my hearing is back, almost 100%. My balance is back 100%. And they said they've never seen anything like it. And the head of the association for what I have called me. And she said, "Don, your story is amazing. This is incredible. We've never seen this before." And they were printing stories that month, and I thought my story would help people, teaching them what I did. And she said, "But we can't print your story." I said, "Why?" She said, "We have too many doctors on our board, they would be upset." True story. and so that told me everything I needed to know. I had to be in charge of my life, in charge of my body, and in charge of making the decisions that are gonna be best for me, and everything changed at that moment.

How has Dr. Nasha Winters and/or the Metabolic Approach to Cancer impacted your life?

Donald Henig: You know, Dr. Nasha Winters and the Metabolic Approach to Cancer has changed my life in many ways, as far as giving me the information and knowledge to know that there's not, you know, one other option, there's not two, there's not five, there's not 10, there's almost unbelievable amounts of things that you can do to improve your situation, whatever that may be. I've also learned how it's different for the different types of cancers, that for this type of cancer, you may need this, and this one, you may need that. And then let's, if that's not working, let's combine a little bit of this and a little bit of that. And let's, as she says, all the time, test, assess, address. And so, you know, you don't just jump into something. You test, you test your test. You dig into it, you figure it out, and then you assess it all, and then you address the problem, and you go after it intelligently, the way it should be done. I learned a lot along the way that has helped my myself, as well as family members. When I go to the oncologist with them, and I ask questions, and the doctor literally sits there, twice, and said to me, and said to my cousin, I don't know how you know this, but your cousin's absolutely right. We're gonna do what he said. And like one of the ones was my cousin with pancreatic cancer. At one point, I suggested, Mistletoe Therapy, which Dr. Nasha Winters wrote the book on, and the doctor, I was very surprised at. He looked at me and he said, "You're 100% correct. Now that you've brought it up, we are immediately starting mistletoe therapy on your cousin," right there in the room. you know. Incredible.

What is your WHY? Why do you share your time, talent and treasures with MTIH?

Donald Henig: "What is my, why?" Well, it started off selfishly. I was trying to find answers for myself, for my specific issue. And then, very quickly, not only was I able to take care of myself, but I was also able to help others, and when you start to help others and help them, especially in the beginning of the process, the beginning of the cancering process, when you hear that word for the first time, and now you're facing a whole new language, and you're exhausted, and you don't know which way to turn, and you hear doctors telling you one thing, and you, you know, you don't even know where to start. So, when I'm able to help people at that stage, especially, and give them some help, and some guidance, and sit and listen to them, and try to give them some honest answers, and show them where they can get the honest answers -- it's an amazing thing. And, I truly believe the Metabolic Approach to Cancer is going to change the world in a very short period of time. It's getting out there in a big way. People understand it, and it just makes sense. It's common sense. So, it's exciting to be a part of it.

Why should others get involved?

Donald Henig: You know, I think people should get involved. If they have one thing, they want to fix themselves, they want to help their family and friends, and they want to change the world for the better. And, I would say every single person involved in this association, this organization wants to change the world for the better, and we have a pretty clear path to doing it. So, I hope more and more and more people join, because this is life-changing for us, and it will be life-changing for the world. I firmly believe that.
