Hi, I'm Casey Waesche, and this is my WHY.
What is your WHY? Why do you share your time, talent and treasures with MTIH?
Why did I join this team? Why do I want MTIH to become the number one cancer treatment center in the world with 360 degrees of full cancer care. Well, it's because I'm a cancer patient, and I went through a lot, and I didn't even get 90% of what I needed.
How has cancer impacted you and/or those that you love?
I didn't even get 90% of what I needed. So, I was lucky. I had connections at one of the 40 research hospitals in the US. So I had the head of the breast cancer surgery department, perform my double mastectomy. She high fived the head of plastics, and he did double mastectomy straight to implant in the operating room. And I had the number one breast cancer doctor who had been there for decades as my oncologist. I had an elite team, and even with all that, I didn't get complete care. I asked each and every one of them, "What diet should I use? What lotions and potions should I put on my skin? What are the things that will make sure cancer never comes back? What will make my healing better, faster, more tolerable?" None of them would give me an answer. They said there's no science, but there is science. There's lots of science, from NIH MD Anderson, all over the world. There is science.
Why should others get involved?
At MTIH, we're compiling it all together, and we're making sure that no cancer patient has unanswered questions again. We're going to do 360 degrees of full cancer care, prevention, and repair so people like me don't have to search high and low, not get answers. Every cancer patient deserves to know what's going to keep them alive and what's going to make them thrive, and at MTIH, we're gonna do that.
