Speaker: Antonio jackson

Why did you choose to attend?

Antonio jackson: Hello, my name is Antonio Jackson and I am happy to be here. Um I know about Mimi styles from Houston Tennessee University. Uh I actually had the opportunity to meet her daughter Jalisa and we worked on um the Student Government Association board together and things like that. So that's how I have the opportunity to know some of about Mimi's work. Um I'm so happy to be here. My brother Michael Hall has a nonprofit. I sit on the executive board uh of board of trustees with him and just learning this information has gave me the gratification that we can move forward and be successful and uh learning all the obstacles and learning all of the dimensions that we need to have in order to make our nonprofits successful. I thank you so much to measure for allowing us to be here, allowing us to be here for free. First of all, for free. Thank you for free. Thank y'all for letting us do this for free. I, I appreciate that. So thank you guys so much for allowing us to be here and giving us uh food for knowledge. Uh I brought my plate today and I'm ready to eat. So let's continue to keep eating. Thank you so much.

What was one of the most impactful takeaways for you?

Antonio jackson: One of the takeaways that I got so far from the leadership summit is the budgeting, making sure that you know how to budget making con uh building connections with the partners that we have here in the Austin community. Um learning our judges, learn our commissioners, learning all of those things in order for us to make our nonprofit successful, getting to know our commissioners, getting to know the people that's writing these grants for us. So we can know what we need to write, what we need to put in the grants in order to receive the most funding that we can get for our organizations and also learning these people because they might want to invest their own personal money into our organizations, into our community. So just uh no, I think that's one of the biggest uh takeaways I've done. Got so far. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Yeah.

What makes this event different from others you’ve attended in the past?

Antonio jackson: I really haven't attended any other events uh as a leadership summit. My professional job is I'm work at AC C, I'm a regional coordinator. So we do do a lot of the leadership summits for our students there. Um However, I just never got an opportunity to sit in, in the sessions and be able to, like I said, in my previous interview, eat from the plate. Um But yeah, so this is actually one of my first leadership summits I have attended um since I've been out of school. Um I am, I am enjoying it and thank you so much uh to measure Tamimi styles and your, your team for doing uh my offer job and just showing me what I uh truly love and get into uh back to my roots. Um So, thank you.
