What made you decide to join the Massage Reimagined team?
Lauren Flanagan: I decided to start working at massage reimagined after I received body work from a few of the practitioners who work there and really felt like different boundaries were being pushed in regard to moving the client around with stretching and connecting with the client in a nurturing way. These are a few things that I just felt like my practice was lacking or even steering away from based on my more medicalized massage training. All that while saying I had a back spasm that one of their practitioners fixed with a really nurturing massage. And so it changed the mind, my mind on what um medicalized massage offered in terms of limiting the benefit and the outcome that the client would get.
Could you share a few details about what you appreciate the most about working at Massage Reimagined?
Lauren Flanagan: The thing I appreciate most about working with massage, reimagine Joe and his team is just that the community and all of the practitioners that work there. It's great to be able to engage in trainings that are offered um in exchange for working with the company and to be able to have those social opportunities um to engage with different practitioners, including Joe and his whole staff.
Has working at Massage Reimagined made you a better therapist?
Lauren Flanagan: I have learned most to be creative in my body work while working at massage, reimagined and just feeling um into what I'm palpating in the body and utilizing everything I know about anatomy and allowing that to just bloom into creativity. And so not following a routine but doing everything different each time with the body. That's right in front of me.
