What made you decide to join the Massage Reimagined team?
Iris McComb: I decided to join the massage reimagined team because uh this opportunity came to me in what felt like a very fortuitous way. I wasn't out looking for a new job. Um, it just kind of fell on my lap and I met with Joe and had an amazing interview experience. Just great conversation. Got to give and receive um, a massage, a forehanded massage. Actually, it was my first forehanded ever. And I mean, logistical things too, the pay was a lot higher. I could have the schedule I wanted and it just felt like a really aligned opportunity where there was a lot of potential for growth.
Could you share a few details about what you appreciate the most about working at Massage Reimagined?
Iris McComb: The thing I appreciate most about working for massage, reimagined is the amount of trust and confidence Joe puts in me and the rest of his employees. It is really something that I've not experienced in previous workplaces. And um it makes for just a really co empowering. Um yeah, just like kind of radical workplace environment. Like, you know, just like politically speaking for just a second, it feels really unique and special to have a workplace where like it feels like my boss isn't constantly like looming over my shoulder and like, you know, trying to boss me around and, and get me to do what he wants me to do. Like I, I feel that I'm given a lot of freedom and creativity and um yeah, trust was the word I I started with and I really appreciate it and it makes me really want to give back to Joe, give back to massage, imagine give back to my coworkers. Um Yeah, it just feels really like makes me feel really respected. Um There's also just been tremendous opportunity for growth, um so much continuing education opportunities which I don't even take full advantage of because I'm I'm in grad school to be a psychotherapist. But, um, continuing ed massage parties. I just learn a lot from my coworkers, uh, giving and receiving massages from them. Everybody who works at massage reimagined is extremely skilled. Um, and yeah, it's just felt like a really supportive workplace. It's been a great place to work while I'm in grad school pursuing this other career. It's given me a lot of flexibility and security.
Has working at Massage Reimagined made you a better therapist?
Iris McComb: I can wholeheartedly 1000% say that working at massage reimagined has made me a better therapist. There are just so many opportunities for growth. Um I mean, it's really just like in the environment, it's in the walls. Um People, the therapists who work there, Joe, they're all really inspired passionate therapists, tons of continuing ed, all these massage parties, um trades with other people. I again am in this, you know, somewhat unique position where I'm in graduate school pursuing this alternate career in mental health. So I'm not as actively engaged with all of these opportunities for growth as other therapists are. And even still I, I can track how much I have grown and I get that feedback from clients who have seen me since before. I started at massage reimagine from my friends who I massage. So it's really, you'd have to be really working hard to not grow at massage reimagine. There's just growth is the the air that we breathe there. Truly.
