Speaker: Dawn Conyers

How would you describe Joe's Continuing Education Classes in three words?

Dawn Conyers: I would describe Joe Lavin's continuing education classes as creative, collaborative and innovative.

How would you describe Joe's teaching style?

Dawn Conyers: Joe's style of teaching is very real down to earth and encouraging. I love the way that he pushes the boundaries of what you think you can do and what you think you are capable of. I love that he encourages input and ideas from everyone he's teaching. and again, the collaboration is unlike anything that I've ever encountered before in classes that I've taken and his classes and his work have definitely influenced the style of massage. I do the most. He makes doing massage, an art form and a dance. and that's something I really resonate with and I love his work. It's beautiful.

How has your practice or bodywork improved as a result of taking Joe's classes?

Dawn Conyers: My body work is much more intuitive and flowing and creative than it otherwise would have been. Had I not taken courses from Joe. I really feel that Joe gives the body work community and massage therapists as individuals permission or gives people permission to give themselves permission to push the envelope a little bit. And over time, I think that adds up to a lot more creativity and a lot more longevity for a massage therapist, career-wise cause they're constantly looking or flowing into new ways to approach each individual. And like I mentioned previously, it gave me permission to really feel into what I'm doing. And it became, has become more for me a dance. It's like painting, sometimes I'm not a painter but it feels very creative to me. And it's allowed me to deepen into my practice and feel that it is a calling and an honor in a way that I really don't think I would have had I not been influenced by Joe's work.
