Speaker: Craig Simpson, Head of Business Advice
What is your name and role at MAS and what do you do in your role?
Craig Simpson: My name is Craig Simpson. I'm the Head of Business Advice at MAS, and my role is to manage a team of professional Business Risk Advisers and to ensure the distribution of all the products that we are able to provide to our Members and that this is done in a professional and efficient manner.
How long have you been at MAS and what relevant roles have you had prior to working at MAS?
Craig Simpson: I've been at MAS for 2.5 years. And prior to that, I was with a large corporate, insurance broker in New Zealand, but I have, in fact, spent my entire working career in the financial services industry across 3 continents. I started out in South Africa where I owned my own business and I owned a number of consultancy businesses as well, also related to insurance. I also placed a lot of business into the London market, including Lloyds and some of their syndicates. And then for the last 6 years I've been in New Zealand, enjoying the financial services market in this wonderful country.
Introducing...
Craig Simpson: Part of this launch of the Business Risk team is for me to introduce some of our Business Risk Advisers. And the first 2 that I'm going to introduce are Colin McTaggart and Susie Cromb. Colin has been with us for, for a number of years. It's well more than 10, I would consider him to be one of the grandfathers of the Business Risk team, not in terms of age but in terms of the length of time that he's been with MAS and looking after the Business Risk team. Suzie Cromb was one of the first BR Advisers that we employed. She came out of the broking world, has a lot of experience in terms of systems, giving advice to SME and larger corporate business. And they are both fantastic assets to the team. Watch out for their video coming soon.
