Dayna Neumann: United Mail serves healthcare, financial services, industries with critical consequential communication in digital and print and mail formats. And MART for me is my it's my board of directors for my marketing efforts. I'm a solo practitioner here at United Mail, I have an outside digital agency and for me, MART is the Touchstone for what works, what doesn't work. The rest of the MART members give me thought leadership camaraderie. I'm less alone in some of the decisions that I'm wrestling with, or grappling with and I have a safe place in which to share what concerns me, workshop ideas and I have the confidence when I come out of those meetings to move forward in a way that I wouldn't have if I didn't have the MART community around me.
Previous to joining MART, how did you engage with marketing colleagues?
Dayna Neumann: Prior to MART, I was kind of winging it. I mean I didn't really engage with other marketing professionals in a formal way. It was very haphazard. Maybe it was a quick LinkedIn message here and there. It was not organized. And therefore, I think I fell into a space of relying on my agency who are being hired and paid to tell me what I want to hear is a little bit of what was going on. And what I ended up needing after a year in this position was other people like me to help bring better context and better understanding a more holistic approach to the issues that we're facing that I was facing and the challenges that were coming up in the business.
What would you say to a colleague who is on the fence about becoming a MART member?
Dayna Neumann: If a colleague was on the fence about becoming a MART member, I would say to them, why are you trying to lone wolf this? If you want to make an impact on your own career? And if you want to make an impact on the livelihood of the rest of your organization, get yourself a wolf pack and MART is your wolf pack. Stop trying to be all on your own, because this will help you professionally, and it will help your organization.
