Speaker: LT, Black Business Alliance Coordinator , Terre Haute chamber of commerce
Introduce yourself (your name, where you're from, what you do)
LT: Hello. My name is L T. I'm originally from Mississippi, but I live in Terre Haute, Indiana. I am the Black Business Alliance coordinator for the Terror Haute Chamber of Commerce and my wife and I also own a business here in Terre Haute called the Wellness Box, Inc.
What part of town do you live in and what do you love about your neighborhood?
LT: So we recently bought a house here on the south side of Terre Haute um and we are absolutely in love with this neighborhood. Um we're kind of close to or on a golf course. Um So this is fairly new for us um in home ownership and we're really excited because like we're planting roots here in Terre Haute and um you know, we've lived here for a long time, but we are really excited about it. The neighborhood is quiet. Um There's lots of walking, there's lots of golfing, there's lots of uh activities outside, especially this time of year with beautiful weather um and fall starting to set in here in Terre Haute.
What's a must-do event or activity that remote workers should experience in their first year?
LT: So some of the things you should do are much to do, things here in Terre Haute are um, number one, hey, come work out with us at Wellness Box, but seriously, um, you know, there's The Mill, which is a concert venue that have hosted some big names such as Flo Rida, Nelly, Lynyrd Skynyrd, um, all types of different acts from different genres of music. Um, and this is a great place to catch a concert right here in Terre Haute. Um, another thing to do is the Diversity Walk that happens downtown. Uh, Terra Haute. Um, the walk, I'm on that committee and our goal is to promote diversity inclusion where everybody can feel welcome and we walk about a mile to a mile and a half right downtown and it's a great event to see everybody come together. Um, and all walks of life and just promote diversity in the community. Uh, one of the other things that we love to do and must do is um, recently there was Blues at the Crossroads, which is the intersection of 7th and Wabash, which is also known as the Crossroads of America. Um, so there's a blues concert that happens in September um, and it's a two day event and there's tons of people that go out to listen to several different bands that are set up along um, along the Wabash Avenue and take um, take advantage of festivities and, and good music and fun and community. So those are some great things to do in Terre Haute and I hope to see you here soon and talk to you.
