What was the hardest part of breastfeeding before you found Majka?
Alex Bachmann: I think the hardest part about breastfeeding was worrying about my supply. Um Once I returned to work, I was lucky enough to have a very abundant supply when my baby was born to about 2.5 months. And then once she was three months, I went back to work and then she started to get distracted with eating. Um so I feel like my, it was hard to keep up my supply. So I really relied a lot on the powders and the bites and it took a little bit and there was about a week to 10 days where I really felt like my supply was dipping. Um but now she's 4.5 months and I, when I pump at work, I get almost 40 oz in that whole day. So it's really awesome.
Please let other moms know how Majka helped your milk supply ...
Alex Bachmann: I really do feel like my supply has increased a lot. I eat probably a pack of bites a day. Um One because they're delicious too because it's easy to just grab one. Um And definitely over the last month and a half, I've noticed that my supply has increased a very, very large amount. Um I'm definitely making more than my babies even eating, which is great so that I can store more and have it for when she's older and doesn't breast feed or even use it for my toddler if she gets sick. And um, yeah, I do enjoy breastfeeding more. Um because I know that I'm able to provide enough for her to gain weight and grow.
How does Majka fit into your day?
Alex Bachmann: So my routine, normally when I'm not working is I get up, I feed my baby who normally doesn't actually eat that much when she wakes up in the morning because she had eaten either at four or six in the morning. Um, and then I get my toddler and I usually have one bite right in the morning. Um, and then if I do have time, I will make a latte with the powder, the lactation booster powder super easy to use. Super easy to open a bag and grab a bite really quick before we go out and do something. Um, same with the powder. I mean, easy enough to boil water. Sometimes I don't get enough time to actually drink it, but the bites are definitely my go to and, you know, super easy just to store them in the freezer and my toddler also loves them.
Describe how using Majka has changed you as a mom.
Alex Bachmann: I think after discovering these products, I saw, I used to see Instagram ads with my first daughter and I never, for whatever reason, clicked on them or looked into the products. And then with my second daughter, it was harder to readily have snacks available. And so I saw an ad for the products and I clicked on it and I was like, oh, these bites look good. And I ordered them and I have ordered, I don't even know how many um they are definitely my go to, I have tried the powder as well. Um But it's just easier for me to grab the bites and go. So they really have made a big difference. They are delicious and easy and effective and I'm going to continue to buy them and I've recommended them to all my new moms and I have given them as baby shower gifts and I really, really, really enjoy them.
What advice do you have for moms that are struggling to enjoy breastfeeding?
Alex Bachmann: I would say my number one advice for people struggling with low milk supply is to not be discouraged. Um I've struggled with it. It's transient, you know, milk supplies, ebb and flow and no matter where you are in your breastfeeding journey, you can increase your supply, whether it be with these products or increase in pumping. Um I've had a lot of success with power pumping, but I think the most important thing is to not give up and not feel discouraged. Um I know it can feel horrible and really disheartening, not to be able to provide your baby with what they need when they need it, but not giving up and lots of skin to skin. Lots of these amazing products, lots of hydration, especially with the hydration powder. Um And just really not letting yourself feel stressed about not being able to provide what your baby needs and knowing that chances are your baby is actually getting more than you think they are. Even if you get a lower output when you're pumping, your baby is able to get more from the breast than the pump is so not giving up. Um And just, just really sticking to it and being in it for the long haul and doing everything that you can to set yourself up for success. Um, asking for help, having things set up and having, you know, having a water bottle right nearby or having abundance of these bites in your freezer and powders and make yourself a drink in the morning or have your significant other, make yourself a drink or, you know, things like that and just, just knowing that it's worth it and to stick to it and not give up.
