How was your experience working with your agent?
Christina & Meredith Hughey: Working with Shelley has been absolutely fantastic. We had to unexpectedly move out of state very quickly, relocating from Kansas here to Madison, Wisconsin, and had a very short amount of time to find a home and find someone to help us do that. And I did a quick Google search and Shelley's bio came up and her experience. So I kind of, I can't remember if I cold- called or emailed, but she got back to me within an hour and was off and running with all of our requests, and finally found us a great home which we still live in today, and have maintained a friendship with her and with Mad City Dream Homes ever since.
What challenges did you face in your buying and/or selling journey?
Christina & Meredith Hughey: So some challenges that we faced in our buying journey was that we were coming from out of state. And so we were not all that familiar with purchasing a home in Madison, Wisconsin. And so Shelley was really knowledgeable about that process. And at the time the market was crazy as it remains crazy to this day even more so now. And she helped us navigate that market to ensure that we did have a house by the end of our our big weekend.
How did our team help you overcome those challenges?
Christina & Meredith Hughey: I think Christina and Shelley would say they finally got to a point on that weekend where they could both walk in and both say nope and walk right back out the door. So, just knowing and trusting each other enough to say we're ready for something or no, let's just skip it entirely.
Christina & Meredith Hughey: I want to say there was like 24 houses or something that we went to in a span of three days, and the numero uno initiative was to have a house by the end of it. And she took it in stride and was very, very knowledgeable, very helpful and fun to be around and be with and make that big transition for us.
Why would you recommend working with Mad City Dream Homes to buy or sell a home?
Christina & Meredith Hughey: We would wholeheartedly recommend Mad City Dream Homes, and I guess more specifically Shelley, because we worked with her the most, to buy your future home or to sell the home that you're in now. Their attention to detail. Their willingness to go above and beyond to make you feel like you're being heard and then find what you want. They know that buying and selling is not an easy decision and one that you can return the next day. So, their patience, their guidance, their experience, it's something that we only get to do a few times if we're lucky in our lifetime.
Christina & Meredith Hughey: Above and beyond kind of the buying of the house, one thing that was kind of a perk for me that I didn't even know was going to be part of the plan was that people get together who have worked with Mad City Dream Homes. We've gone to the pumpkin patch, we've gone to Mallards baseball games, and it really helped coming from out of state to get to know other people. And so that's a really thoughtful thing that they do for people who have worked with them in the past. Yeah, I think I would even add, they have a great newsletter that we get that has actually introduced us to a lot of things in Madison and the surrounding area which we would not have known before. So it really made coming to someplace new feel more welcoming. So thank you Mad City!
